Updated on 03-02-2022

While presenting Union Budget 2022, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has put great emphasis on infrastructure development, under the new PM GatiShakti program. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that this new scheme is a transformative approach for economic growth and sustainable development driven by seven engines- Roads, Railways, Airports, Ports, Mass Transport, Waterways, and Logistics Infrastructure. She declared that the government will extend the national highway network by 25,000 kilometres under the PM Gati Shakti master plan in the fiscal year 2022-23.  Mutual fund advisors and fund managers believe that this push is going to be beneficial for investments in the infrastructure segment.
